Subject: HELP ADVICE REQUIRED!!
Hello there, I just signed up for the London Tri in August and to be honest, I am totally new to this competitions and I am not sure whether I am making a mistake or not.
I am doing between 100 to 150km per week between cycling and running plus swimming every day 1500 mts at lunch time but I do this without any program or guidance. I have completed several half marathons and one full marathon but still not sure. Is there a program I can take up for these next 6 weeks before the race? Can you suggest anything??
thanks a lot
Dario

Dario:  I started reading your thread a bit skeptical but then I saw your base and all I can say right now is: You'll be fine.

Rather than focusing on all the minor details in your first race, just focus on enjoying the experience.  There you'll likely meet some peeps who might be willing to help you as well as train with you, the very least, ask for some tips, then come back to BT and look at some of the video posts.

Tris are a three discipline sport, not three sports one after the other. But again, being this your first - enjoy it and go kick some butt - even if it's yours that gets tangled in the mess.  Wink

I think your base is good for a sprint-distance race. You could compare your current training to the final six weeks of one of the sprint training programs here on BT. Just click on the "Programs" tab at the top of your screen. Just taking a look and comparing yourself could give you that boost of confidence you are looking for.

Hello Everyone!

I finished the London Olympic distance in 2hours and 44 minutes but wasted too much time on T1 and 2, about 14 minutes in total, I could have had a cup of tea!!

I also had loads of problems with my eyes due to the anti fog solution I use for my goggles but it was a good experience. Will do the Windsor one at the end of this month so we shall see.

The "official times" were

Swim 28 min

Bike 1h11min

Run 50min

all the best and thanks for all the advice and support

Dario
