Subject: RE: 70.3- Find a plan and follow it. There are several good ones available right here, though you need to be a gold or silver member for some of them.
- Log your training. You'd be amazed how many workouts you miss when you don''t. You may be amazed by how many you miss even when you do.
- Start figuring out your nutrition plan early. Nutrition really doesn't play a role in Olympic and shorter races. But when you're racing for 5+ hours, you need calories and you need to figure out how YOU can take them. Other people can give you advice, but what worked for them may not work for you.
- If this is your first triathlon, build slowly. Even better, do at least a sprint and an Olympic distance before your 1/2. There's plenty to worry about when tackling 70.3 miles without it also being your first triathlon experience. |
