Subject: RE: Bike fittingBryoRunsFar - 2009-08-04 9:24 AM I have a Trek road bike that I've had for about a year now and I'm finally spiritually in tune with it and would like to get it custom fitted for me. The reason I waited was because if I had got it fitted initially, I would've just had to take their word for it that it was "feeling right" but now I think I'm a lot more astute on minor adjustments and it would be more valuable now.
So.....any bike shop recommendations where I can have this done? How much should I expect to pay? The bike shop I bought it from is a significant distance away from my home and I was looking more in the genesee county/oakland county area.
Thanks everyone
~Bryan Matt3Liv is up in Fenton I think, so he might be able to give you a recommendation up near you. I've gone to Bike Sport down in Dearborn (long trek for you though ). They've got a new video/computer system there that's very nice. They put you on your bike and have a video camera film you - they the computer is able to calculate all of the angles and display them on the screen in front of you. They make the necessary adjustments and then can show you a before and after. It worked real well for me. However, what I found is that while they gave me a textbook fit of the position I'm "supposed" to be in, it wasn't the most comfortable, so I made a few tweaks to the seat positioning myself and after my Bataan death ride, I mean Steelhead HIM, I'll probably tweak it a bit more. |
