Subject: Ergomo Pro power meter - Any thoughts?

Hello,

I have the opportunity to buy an Ergomo Pro power meter.

http://www.bicyclepowermeters.com/ergomoproproducts.html

Do you have any thoughts and or experiences with this specific power meter? Via the search function I have found a few "Power Meter" threads. Mostly people were recommending SRM and Power Tap, and there were some critical comments about the Ergomo. But unfortunately no detail.

Take care

Ergomo's US distributor went out of buisness.  If you need customer support or service it must be shipped over to Germany.

That's why in my other post(deleted??) I said, "stay away unless you speak German."

Hello,

Thanks a lot for your comments so far.

What I forgot to say is, that I could buy an Ergomo used (according to the description "not a lot of usage". Don't know yet what the seller would like to convey with that, because once the bottom bracket is installed, one uses it always) for $ 500.

Funny thing is, I am actually German. But that would not help me a lot in case of a problem, as I live in Canada now!

Take care

you'd be limited to outdated cranks; square taper or octalink, you don't say which the seller has. If it were me, the fact that there is no domestic service available, and Competitive Cyclist has [new, with warranty from a company that's still in business] wired powertap wheels for $660 would make a $500 ergomo not all that attractive.

wait, you said you are in Canada? Is $500 Canadian still significantly less than $500 US? That may negate what I just said.
