Subject: Tri suits-
Hi-a total newbie question! A tri-suit is worn for all 3 phases of the race(swim, bike, run)?Man there's a lot i don't know-I had just planned on wearing my speedo training suit under my spring wet  suit-my thoughts then went to just throwing shorts over that for the bike and swim-The closer to race day the more questuions I come up withSmile. Thanks

I have a DeSoto Tri suit that I love, except for one problem the Port a pottys, getting in and out of it is a bear, but it is the most comfortable thing in the world and it drys fast on the bike and has just enough padding.
The problem with a seperate shirt is that putting it on in T1 is a tough as dealing witht he Tri suit in the Porta's.
Each has it's pluses and minuses.

I race in both a tri suit or a pair of shorts/top. I use my trisuit under my wetsuit if it's wetsuit legal. A Tri suit or tri shorts/top is all you need. No need to throw on anything over the top of anything else.

As for the porta-potty...no issues with either a tri suit or shorts (assuming it's #1). I just lift up the leg of the suit until I can get Jr situated and let er rip!

No need to put the tri-top on in T1, just wear it under the wetsuit, same as you would do with a trisuit (one piece.)

And as for the suggestion of pulling up the leg and letting Jr slide down... I'm pretty sure the OP "Dawn" might not have the right equipment for that.

Yeah, you know you're probably right about that...I'd have to ask the wife how she goes potty...I'm pretty sure she doesn't take off her suit. I seem to remember that she moves the leg out of the way as well and sits down (or at least hovers).
