Hope the CoJ knowledge would help.

A friend of mine only has one email account (hotmail). Looks like his acouunt has been hacked - I got emails from him trying to sell me performance enhancing drugs "for the bedroom". He's actually my teacher. I texted to inform him, and he found out he's unable to log in to his account. Looks like the hackers changed his password.

So what to do in this situation? Is there anyway to disable/cancel this hotmail account? Should he open a new account with a different provider? Is there anyway he can retreive the email list in the hotmail account?

when this happened to me, he told me exactly what to do and it worked. the second thing i didn't do was DON'T USE HOTMAIL. i just got hacked again this weekend

And a response from a different resource, too -

" ...contact customer care. Mention that someone changed your security question you believe because you can't answer it. They will reset your password for you. My friends hotmail was hacked too and she couldn't answer her security question. Customer care just needed some other info from her. They reset her password."
