Total Time = 1h 36m 46s
Overall Rank = 72/213
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 9/35
Pre-race routine:

Stayed the night at a local hotel. Slept well. Breakfast oatmeal and coffee. Kept hydrated...additional 1/2 liter of water.
Event warmup:

Jogged a half mile...15 min streching...bathroom break in the treeline.
Swim
  • 16m 3s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 08s / 100 meters
Comments:

My first Tri and first open water swim...Could not get calm then sucked water and panicked. Did not get my breathing under control until I rounded the first bouy. Felt really good after that...difficulty sighting... I was breathing on my left...the bouys and everyone else on my right...did a lot of zig-zagging...until I found bubbles to follow...
What would you do differently?:

More drafting...learn to breath off my right if I am going to stay left of the pack
Transition 1
  • 03m 4s
Comments:

Took off my timing chip to get my suit off faster (velcro). Forgot to put my chip back on...ran out of T1 and did not hear the beep...ran back into T1...Rookie!
What would you do differently?:

More practice in T1
Bike
  • 53m 17s
  • 18 miles
  • 20.27 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

Could have went faster...I was worried about the run. Need to focus on the bike more.
Transition 2
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

Had MTB shoes and peddles...difficult getting them off
What would you do differently?:

Buy road shoes and peddles
Run
  • 23m 8s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

Could not feel my feet coming off the bike...the little hill at the beginning killed me (very slow...crawling)...got my wind at about the 1 mile mark then felt good.
What would you do differently?:

Bricks! Oh...and more bricks.
Post race
Warm down:

15 min Streching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My first race everything was a learning experience...had no frame of referance to mentally prepare

Nice race Jim. If you want a stalker then change your name to Jack. I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice, just wouldn't have time for those bricks.
