Subject: Newbie trying to not get ripped off

I have a friend of a friend that wants to sell this bike.  I have zero knowledge about bikes and was hoping for some opinions about what I should pay.

Hopefully the picture comes in clearly.  Please let me know if I should be getting more information.  What is a fair price?

What is the price he/she is asking?

What year is the bike, what equipment comes on the bike, are the components campy/shimano/dura ace, 105, etc...

What type of bike is it?

All of this would help in some fine folks giving you some comparable info.

None of this is going to matter if the bike doesn't really fit you or has to have major adjustments in order to be a good match for your riding.

Follow this guide, take the measurements, and then post what the results are for a road bike. We can then match those up against the bike's specs.

A bike is only a good deal if it fits you

Thanks for the input I will get my measurements and see how they stack up with the bike and I may see if I can take it for test ride.
