Life in a Day. [July 24, 2010]

http://movies.nationalgeographic.com/movies/life-in-a-day/

4,500 hours down to 1 hr and 35 min documenting the 24 hour period of one Saturday.

I warn you a couple of segments are quite graphic but the film is eye opening as to what occurs on the planet in a single day.

Did you go see it at the theater?  I saw the trailer out there and it does look good.

Unfortunately, not in the theater but on Netflix. Imax would have been awesome.

Some of the scenes are truly unbelievable. It is an amazing glimpse into the variety of lives people lead and a few of the odd daily events that occur around the world.

One of my favorite parts... a guy is filming his wife/ gf giving birth and passes out - the way it plays out, I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.

The girl sky diving is very stunning.

The young wife talking via skype with her husband in Afghanistan, is heart breaking.

The film literally starts at 3:00am and traverses the day until a late evening thunder storm.

I'll add in the Japanese guy getting his son ready in the morning in the messy house.  i was like what a pig stye the whole time until we found out where mom was.
Great lesson in not being too quick to judge.

The other part that really resonated with me is seeing what it's like in the very poor areas of the world.  Our concept of "poor" in America is so far away from reality.
