I just saw this yesterday.  There's a new company starting up to put on triathlons, which seems like a good thing, since the local ones fill up so fast.  The first one they put on will be a sprint in Wakefield (North Raleigh). Here's the link:

I can't do it because I've got a marathon two weeks later, but I hope it becomes a yearly event, since it's less than a mile from my home.

Neat -- I think that's near my brother's place, too.  I'll tell him about it!

I'm a newbie training for the one in Morrisville on July 8th, and live here in Raleigh. I'm a weak swimmer so this looks right up my alley. I'm going to sign up for it tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

Cool. They seem to be using USAT format and rules ... so how can they say this ...

Distance

200 yard Swim / 12.00 Mile Bike / 3.1 Mile Run
Distances are approximate and subject to change

Don't the courses have to be certified or something? Maybe this one is pending?

It also sounds like they're requiring relay teams to be three members rather than two or three. Other than that, it looks pretty standard. I won't do it this year as it's smack in between Azalea and White Lake ... but I'll keep it in mind.
