I'll be doing the Treasure Island, CA tri on Nov 1, 2003 with Team in Training. This will be my first, and I am shooting for an Olympic distance, but may do the Sprint (especially because of swimming in the Bay in 55 degree water!) I am doing this with my good friend Tina, and our training logs are on this site.

BRRRR! Hope you have a wetsuit for that one. I attempted a Lake Michigan tri last September with a cheap shorty wetsuit not designed for tris and the water was 51 degrees. I made it about 30 yds and turned around. It took my breath away and my feet and head felt numb. Good luck and stay warm!

We will be wearing full wetsuits in the 55 degree water of SF Bay. Fortunately, I am a SCUBA diver in this area (up north as well as Monterey), so the cold water doesn't bother me TOO much! Of course that is in a 1/4" wetsuit, not 1/8". Guess I have to keep moving!!
