I like to think I live in one of the best areas to train in Canada (if not the world)
Lots of verring terrain for outdoor runs and cycling, and plenty of facilities to choose for the indoor stuff.
And lots of oppourtunity to race!

I plan to make the most of my winter by core strength training and building a solid anerobic base and of course lots of time in the pool! (me weakest area)

I have started to purchase my kit, but any and all advice is greatly appriciated. My bigest purchase so far is my Fuji bike, I still want to swap out the seat post and add some aero bars, but it may have to wait until spring.
I have also been advised to invest in a wetsuit, this seems like a big chunk of change.

I currently swim and cycle twice a week and run three (tempo, hills and distance or speed) and strength training twice a week. I try to do flexablity and core strength after cycling but admit to getting lazy occasionally.

Sure, I have other interests, but tri is quickly over shadowing them!
So I lool forward to hearing from any other athletes looking to share their experiences!

Welcome to the boards and best of luck in accomplishing your goals. As for the wetsuit, They help to keep you warm and floating while swimming. so you'll know best wether you actually need one or not. I'd say to pick one up to be on the safe side.

Welcome to the forum! Being from FL, I would disagree with training any where it snows :-) Tried the snow and moved back! Sounds like you are building a great foundation and will be ready to hit the ground (without snow) running.
