Subject: RE: Mini-tri Thanks for the welcome, Ron.
In the past 5 days, I've rummaged through dozens of tri sites, reading and learning about anything and everything I can. Your site looks great, especially the BB portion.
My main concern when I signed up for the tri was the same as most... do I have the ability to swim that far. I found a great site, www.swim.ee, which gives awesome step-by-step lessons on proper ways to swim and technique. After viewing some of the videos and reading the tutorials, I improved my 1/2-mile swim time by a whopping 11 minutes (49 to 38 minutes ), overnight (literally ). I thought that wasn’t too bad for my second time swimming for distance, ever!
I’m excited to be getting back into shape and competing in athletics at a higher level. I’ve only been training for about a week and I’ve noticed that during my runs, swims, and biking, the limiting factor to my workouts isn’t my cardio… it’s muscle fatigue. I realize I won’t get my legs back for a few weeks, but it’s frustrating when my mind and chest say go, and my legs (and arms ) say no.
Oh, one quick question… I didn’t see a “links” sections on this webpage. Did I miss it? Here are a few great swimming links that I’ve found:
