I think many of you need to know two things:

The Red Sox are right on the tail of the Yankees

The Giants are hot and ready to take over the lead from the Dodgers.

These next two weeks are going to be great, rivalry city.

Eaaaaaaaaaaasy there, cupcake....

Dodgers are due! They're so due...but then again Im' partial as I bleed Dodger Blue when you cut me....

But I'll agree...GO SOX!!!

And, alas, if the worst were to happen and the Giants take the NLWest I promise to be out there with my tomahawk (oops, wrong team)..I meant my rally monkey (gal darnnit!) with my "Pitch to Barry" sign and hopefully scoring a couple seats to SBC Park to watch the festivities unfold!

Although, do not get me started on Barry Bonds and his lack of enthusiasm/ego...that's a whole other thread all together.

Go Dodgers and Sox!

Nancy,

I don't think we can be friends anymore. I'm sorry. I will grieve for the friendship that was. But I promise not to laugh in your face when the Dodgers crash and burn in the worst way and are bleeding from their ears while they smoke in the fiery pits of hell.

Amen.

You live in NorCal and bleed Blue.
I live in SoCal and bleed Orange an Black.
Must be tough for you to see games, because it is tough for me, but the last weekend is going to be a dog fight.
Oh yeah, when was the last time you were in the playoffs?

You know what, Dana, it's not my fault....
Your Giants betrayed me....left me empty, alone, wondering what I did wrong...why did they hurt me so....

There was no one more supportive of their run last year than I was....every play off game...leaving work early, utilizing yahoo IM that would give me updates on the game when I was stuck at work....hanging out in the newsroom and stealing their TV's, changing it from CNN to the game (big car wreck with mass destruction and death and mayem??? Excuuuuuuuuuuuse me, I'm trying to WATCH THE GAME!). Every word out of my mouth had some referring to PacBell Park, batting averages, starting pitchers, great plays. Hell, I even liked BARRY during that period of time.

But alas, they let me down....I welled up when they gave it away.....I remember it poignantly...having rushed in from work, listening on the radio on the way home, breaking traffic laws...trying to time the time from turning off the radio in the car to getting inside and turning on the TV....to, to, sniff, sniff...I'm sorry, I can't talk about it....my bf at the time rushed over to console me, but I was inconsolable...we lost something that day...he was a bigger fan than I was...

And then to make matters worse...in the off season, the final betrayal...all of my players...in an instant...poof...gone.....Benito, Kitty Cat (Gallaraga) and the man who I know if only made eye contact with me once would have been mine forever and ever....Tim Worrelll (sigh, sigh, swoooooooooooooon)....JT Snow? blech. Rich Aurelia? whatever, Barry Bonds? so what if he's a great hitter the man has no love of the game and attitude about it...show me passion!!....it was all Benito, kitty cat and Timmy for me...AND THEY'RE GONE!

It was like having your heart ripped out again and again....

So, like I said earlier, I'm Dodger Blue through and through....alas, our family has 5 world series rings in the family as my great grandfather played for them and was a pitching coach for them up til the 80's....knew Tommy when he was a wee lad....remembering the infield of way back when...garvey, lopez, the penguin Ron Cey....how can I not stay Dodger Blue?

But I will submit that the Giants have wooed me, being a nor cal person these many, many years....the park is a temple, a cathedral and slowly they've wined me and dined me and as I said earlier, if and when Dodger Blue doesn't pull thru this year, I will, with a tender heart and fear of vulnerability and being hurt again, cheer for the Giants once again.....

I am not even sure how Dodger Fan can be on your side.  When the Blue crew dies out and G-man take the West with the Cubbies in the Wild Card, you are going to rout for the Giants.  That isn't a true Blue fan to me.  What would Tommy and you family say about that one.
You had me with the fact that your famliy has rings, but then to go back on it like that ?????
As for JT, hitting in the .450's since the break, lights out.  And AJ is better than Benito, and the Big Kat was just eating KitKats all off season and didn't make the Giants or any team.  As for Worrell, he tore out too many hearts in SF with all of the blown saves.  The loss that hurt the most was Joe Nathan, we needed the closer, but Dustin is improving.

Wow, how could I possibly compete with that epistle of passion and longing??!?

All I can say, my fair weather friend, is TIM WORRELL IS A HOTTIE.

Nuff said.

Truly, I just love baseball. What a sport! And I'm not viciously anti-Dodger, but how could they trade away Paul LoDuca??!!?? I mean he was the only one I liked!!

What's up with that?

But you're right--even the most hardened anti-Barry person cannot help but be awed by the Church of the San Francisco Giants.

Ok, friends??

Kitty Kat had heart...was stable, always showed up, did his job...there was love of the game...like Grissom....Benito did what he was told last year....nurtured the young catchers...showed them the ropes...he was my bull durham....granted he's getting old, but still a loss....he was always consistent as well...Timmy, ahhhh, Timmy, yes, had a couple rough games and I almost broke up with him b/c of it, but had to stand by my man....he was stoic...he was a rock...he came out and did his job....a quiet forcefulness and presence he had....

Trust me, I've lived here 25 years now, having left the south and up til 2 years ago spit on anything orange and black....but they wooed me....and if LA can't have it, I'd rather keep it on the west coast....besides, that park is so damn beautiful how can you not love going to a Giants game? Besides, look at how many former dodgers have had a presence on their team?

You may want to seek professional help about your delusions IRT the Giants........The Padres are going to blow past them and then make the Dodgers bleed "Dodger Blue" while they WATCH the NLCS from home!!!!!!

John--

I think there's something about the new uniforms that may have stunned the competition. Dazed them for a while, but we are coming back strong now. Sure you've owned the Giants this season, but take a step back!! We have something like a 317-22? history AGAINST the Pads.

We do, ahem, appreciate you taking 2 out of 3 with LA. But now, we hope to make you cry this weekend!!

I really enjoy baseball rivalry,

Love Baseball, love the rivalry, HATE the tan uniforms with the big "D" in the middle.....when it's all said & done, I will be pulling for the Cardinals in the NLCS, I don't think the Padres have a realistic chance with the rash of injuries this week. I am from St Louis, so that's where my true loyalty lies, but as a SoCal transplant, it is nice to have a team that is kind of an underdog......and Dodger/Giant bashing is Soooooooo much fun!!!!!!

I'm thinking a friendly wager and that we keep it all in the BT family....say, winner of the NLWest gets a BT t-shirt from the losers?

I got the Dodgers....

Who else is in?
