Subject: WTB: 52-53cm road bike, entry-level or mid-level
Looking for a bike for my bro who wants to get into cycling and tris and doesn't have much $$.

Looking for a good basic road bike, 52-53 cm frame (he is about 5'6" or 5'7"? I think his last bike which was stolen was a 52) with decent components, would prefer above Sora, but will take that if it is decent condition. Prefer a more recent model bike (circa 2000 and up?)
Looking to spend under $400.

Let me know if you've got your old beginner bike taking up space in your garage that you want to part with to help someone else get taken to the dark side of tris...

He is in DC so ideally the seller would be around there, but I am in Philly so that area would work unless seller is willing to ship.

Know this is a longshot but figured I'd try!!

I have a Cervelo Dual frameset with carbon fiber fork and seatpost. I know it is out of the first persons price range but figured I would mention it here anyways. It is a size 54cm.

it's out of the price range, but I'm sure he would negotiate...not sure he'd negotiate to $400, but if you are interested let me know and I'll see what he would go to.

I am also prepping a Specialized Allez Comp for sale...I gotta see what size it is...it has profile bars and ultegra pedals...I've also got to figure out what I want for it, too...

Thanks guys, would have to stick in the price range mentioned as he really doesn't have much to spare, but keep posting especially as others looking for a bike same size might view this thread. I am keeping my eyes out on CL as well...
