This is the inaugural triathlon event at Millennium Park in Grand Rapids. It's a sprint and they also have two kids triathlons, depending on the age of the kids they'll do one or the other.

It will be fun to rock a sprint distance having just done Steelhead. I'm sure they won't need to cancel the swim at Millennium park though!

I'm not doing it. I would like to but I can't swing the extra cash this week. I run those roads and trails all the time, it would be fun to race it.

Oh and they could call off the swim, but it wont be for waves but for Escherichia Coli. LOL

Maybe next year.

I can't do it but two of my training partners are in --rode and ran the course on Sun nite --it's going to be fast on both the bike and run. Can't wait to see those times. It will be interesting too to see how many people they have show up --I expect it will be a pretty big crowd. Good luck and have fun to all who are racing it on Sat.

I saw the aerial pictures of the bike and run routes but didn't notice elevations. The 5/3 25k goes out near Millennium and I recall some hills around Johnson park but that's about all I remember.

I'm stoked to do this sprint after Steelhead. It will be a relief to not have to think about nutrition and saving myself for the run, I'm going to hammer it.

At least after I get out of the water....

I run those roads at least once a week. Looking at the bike map the first hill will be at mile 1 and then there will be 4 hills over the next 2.5 miles. From there until around mile 11.5 it will be flat with a slight rise around mile 5. After 11.5 it will be all hills for the next 2 miles with the last mile being flat for the most part.
