I was told by someone they think that the WTC allows you to differ the race until next year for medical reasons. Does anyone know if this is true?

My understanding is that there is no deferrment. Period. Unfortunately, circumstances sometimes prevent a registered athlete from participating, but that's the chance one takes in signing up for something like an IM.

No.

Never.

Under no circumstances.

Never ever ever ever never ever never.

And even if they did, injury isn't a medical reason.

Well that is what I thought. I figured it would not hurt to ask.

The only race I know that allows that is the Boston Marathon. I had to eat the entry fee and pay again the next year. IM's no way.

What about a fear of biking 112 miles? I think that is legit. .
