Situational Awareness

Just came in from my early morning run and something I saw makes me want to post this:

Ladies (aw heck, guys too), if you're going to have headphones on while walking casually down a poorly lit, tree-lined path all by your lonesome at 5 in the morning then at least try to have an idea of what's going on around you.

Sheesh, even with me calling "on your left" three times I was literally past her before she had any idea I was there. 

I assisted in several women's self defense classes when I was a practicing martial artist and seeing something like that really grinds my gears.
