Can anyone recommend a good swim coach located well north of Dallas. I live just north of Denton. Thanks!

Kristen Warner (triplethreat.com) she gives lessons at Lifetime Fitness on Trinity Mills Dr.  She did a great job for me, and I've read where others have used her as well

X2 ( and you will get many more people that refer you to her.  She is reasonably prices I think or you can sign up for Texas Triple Threat and swim with them on Wed & Friday mornings at 5am or 6am (or both) and then you basically get her services for the prices of membership ($75/year).  Your other option is Dave Young with North Texas masters.  More expensive ($35/month) to swim with the team but Dave seems to help more if you have stroke problems.  I am assuming he does private lessons also.

x3 on Kristen. She cut my average 100 from ~2:00 to 1:40 in the space of 6 lessons.

Playtri is having an open water swim clinic on Saturday, Sept 6th at Joe Pool Lake.   This clinic is focused specifically on triathlon swimming.  You will have the opportunity to learn about and practice the start, drafting, turning buoys, positioning, etc.

I have once heard that the comparison of pool swimming to triathlon swimming is not even apples and oranges, but more like apples and cars.  This is a clinic soley about TRIATHLON swimming.

The clinic is $40 and lasts for 2 hrs.  It is really beneficial for triathletes.  I would highly recommend checking it out.

Visit the website for location maps  www.playtri.com  I believe the clinic starts at 7am in the summer months.

Let me know if you have other questions.  Hope to see you there!

Make sure you have $10 to enter the park also, but I have heard great things about these clinics.
