Okay, I was able to get my hands on a FREE HyperRim but it did not come with the skewer that Minoura highly recommends you use.  The whole trainer thing (and biking for more than just riding casually) is new to me so I have no clue what I need to do to my bike to be able to use it.  Right now my tires are still bolted on  - no quick release skewer on my bike.  Any help with little laughing would be greatly appreciated (currently have an old huffy road bike and no, buying a new bike is not an option right now)

have you tried to mount the bike on the trainer? if not, do that, and if it is stable spin away. The engine is more important than the bike.

If the engine is a huffy(and puffy) too, better ride a bit more.: )

Hi Kevin, thanks.  Unfortunately I don't even have the bike right now. It is at the LBS for some service.  I will definitely try mounting it in the trainer as is and hope that it works that way when I get it back on Tuesday.  It is killing me to see the trainer sitting in the living room and not being able to test it out.  Next step will be to find the bike/trainer a home in the house for the winter.

Thanks again Kevin. I will definitely post a picture when I get it set up if it does not seem right.

Take the trainer with you to the LBS when you pick up the bike. They should be able to show you how to set it up.

For what it's worth, I just use an old shimano skewer with my Minouru mag trainer. Free from the junk drawer at my LBS.
