I killed my bike today. I am bummed. I forgot it was on top of the car when I pulled into the garage and crack. Fork is jacked and I'm sure it is not going to be fun paying for this one. I had just gotten about to the point where we were comfortable buying a new tri bike too. Now I have to fix my road bike. I didn't even ride today. Went to a friend's house to go for a ride and we decided to reschedule due to the high winds.

I guess it was meant to be though so I am not too upset about it. I'm such a dummy.

At least the Huskers looked better last night and I go on vacation on Tuesday. Hopefully this is the worst that happens.

If its just a fork, you can get that fixed fairly cheap. As a matter of fact, you can have the one from my Allez if it fits.

I'm not sure what it is. The fork looks ok, but it is definitely broken inside the collar. May be the top part of the fork. I'mtaking into the shop here shortly. I figure I'll have it done by the time I get back from vacation. Thanks for the offer.

That would have been smart ( which is obviously not me or else I wouldn't have a broken ride). I didn't even think of that. I have already taken it in for surgery. It didn't look too bad, but as soon as you tried to turn the bars, the wheel stayed put. It is cracked inside the stem or something. The guys at the shop said it happens all the time and it shouldn't be a big deal.

I promptly went to the other bike shop and got the info on the new tri bike I am wanting.

Hope there isn't a next time, but if there is, I'll remember the photos.
