Alot of people swim at Oz fitness for a pool and lake wise there is Medical lake & Bear lake which are the nicest to swim in since there are not motor boats on them. Lake CdA is nice too. but all probably pretty cold..

YMCA has some swim options too.  There are some triathlon-specific swim times in the mornings - both coached and uncoached, and T-Th there is a class at the Downtown Y that is like a Master's class.  Not sure what they're calling it, but it's coached.  They also have open lap swim times throughout the day.

All the lakes are getting pretty chilly - but I was in CdA last weekend and plan to be there again early Saturday morning.  It's still swimmable, but probably not for too much longer (at least for me).

North Park also has a pool and is on the northside and I think there is an Oz out in that area too.

I was at Global fitness on the northside but now I live at Liberty lake so I am at Global fitness in the valley.  When Summer hits forget the pool I am swimming in Liberty lake.  Coeur de Alene is a great place to do open water swimming in the summer time.
