FELT DA with Z99 Wheelset

My DA was just built today, but I have TTR wheels on mine. I'll let you know what I think Sunday, but I have a feeling I'll be really happy.

Do a search for Felt DA on the forums at slowtwitch.com and you will find many happy riders. Quite a few posters over there riding them. Issues with seatpost clamps (cracking) are common, but Felt has a new stronger version. Make sure your LBS puts that one on. It's silver colored as opposed to the matte black original. Some had problems with the bayonet fork, but they were usually attributed to a poor initial set up as they are tricky, I'm told. Make sure the guy doing the assembly is familiar with them and/or knows how to follow the instructions.

I brought it home last Thursday after dark and woke Friday morning with terrible back pain, probably sciatic nerve related. It's lessened over the past few days, but it meant no riding and a cancelled race, all in beautiful riding weather.

It's looking like the first ride will be Saturday morning, as long as the weather and my back hold up. It's been torture staring at it and not being able to get a ride in.

As far as looks and fit/finish, it's incredible. Pics are in my album. Maybe an action shot will be there one day.

VERY happy with the bike. The full carbon frame makes a noticeable difference coming from an aluminum roadie with carbon seat stays. It takes the edge off of rough roads. Positioning works great for me (I knew that from riding a B12 before), so it will be even more comfy when I dial it in.

The drivetrain is just SILENT. I built mine full Dura Ace, and coming from Ultegra with an FSA crank, it's like having ear plugs in. Shifting is immediate and people's reviews are correct regarding the brakes, they have a great feel.

One day (maybe next year) I'll get some carbon wheels. I'd like to feel the difference over the heavier aero aluminum ones.
