Subject: speedplay pedals question
Hi, I currently have speedplay pedals on my bike and I notice that they do not spin freely. Is this normal? I have used shimano pedals and they always spin freely........ Just wondering if I'm giving up performance and or need to replace the speedplays?

Any suggestions for a good pair of clipless pedals around 50-75 bucks?

What type of Speedplays do you have?  I have 2 sets of Zeros and they do rotate easily and smoothly, but they dont spin with the flick of a finger if that's what you're asking.

I'm not sure which type of speedplays I have? But you understand what I'm getting at they don't spin with a flick of the finger but they do rotate freely so it sounds like this is normal? Thank you!

my first sprint tri is this afternoon so I'm just a bit Anxious!!!!!!!Laughing

My speedplays rotate but not as freely as a lot of other pedals would.  I think thats perfectly normal and it won't hurt your performance.  Good luck this afternoon.

Same here, I have a pair of zero's they rotate freely  but not at a flick as mentioned. You can always use the grease port, which is recommended by speedplay.
