My Hat is Off to Y'all Up North

My wife and I live in East Texas, and the water for OWS has been great lately.  When you get in, it's like bathwater.  Seriously.  Just fantastic!  There's no need for a wetsuit after May 15th or so.

But we're up visiting my parents in my hometown in Minnesota, and I don't remember the water ever being this cold.  I used to go water skiing nearly everyday on the same lake I'm looking at now, and I remember the water was chilly, but it felt like an ice bath this morning.

We're up for a July 4th wedding, as well as a sprint triathlon that morning.  I hadn't even thought about a wetsuit, and I'm sure I'll be fine without it for such a short distance (1/3 mile).  But DANG, it sure felt cold this morning.

My hat is off to all you triathletes that live "Up North."  Stay warm!!
