Who's feeling Epic?

I'm actually wondering if anyone who is racing in the Urban Epic next week has any advice on the mini-transition.  I guess there is about a half-mile from the swim to the main transition area.  Any suggestions on what to do with the wetsuit?  By that I mean should I pull it down to my waist and run with it on or take it completely off and carry it?

This is from the Urban Epic website:

Mini-Transition
After finishing the swim, you will stop at the mini-TA to pick up your shoes for the half-mile run to the main-TA at 58 Fore Street. You'll have to carry or wear your wetsuit, but don't worry, it's all flat!

I would by all means take off the wetsuit when you get out of the water... jogging even 1/3 mile in a wetsuit half way off will be very tiring!

Thanks for the feedback.

However, I just found out we'll be using a drop-off bag so when you get out of the water you can put you wetsuit, googles, caps, etc. in the bag and it will be brought to the main transition area for you.  No carrying/wearing the wetsuit for the 1/2 mile to the main T area!!!

Good Luck to everyone who's racing Urban Epic this weekend.  Hope the weather is fair for you.  Don't forget to submit race reports so people considering this race for 2010 (like me) can get a feel for it !

Race report: WET!!!

I thought, overall, Tri-Maine did a great job.  I'd recommend this race to anyone considering it.  It's also a nice transition distance as it's a bit longer than your standard sprint swim & run portions.  I'll be back next year looking to improve all my times - some more than others.
