Subject: RE: personal libraryI feel like I learned a lot from Daniels, as well as from the books by Pfitzinger and Douglas. For cycling, I feel that I learned a lot from the books by Ed Burke (especially Serious Cycling and High-tech Cycling ). Those are just a few authors to consider, IMHO. Swimming, I just trust my coach -- I've never read TI stuff, just some unmemorable things from the library. I tend to read lots of scholarly articles too, but their applicability to actual training can often be hard to work out -- I just like to read them. As I work at a major university, it is easy for me to get access to them. Otherwise, that can be a little difficult, as the publishers tend to want to charge unconscionable prices to read them online, and many libraries are dropping their printed subscriptions to these journals. |
