Subject: First Olympic distance tri? OKay... I think it's because I've been out of the pool for 2 weeks (recovering from LASIK ), but I am poking around for motivation and new goals. I'm doing the Danskin this summer and my goal is to get as close to my 1:32 time from 5 years ago. The catch is that I'm doing the race with my partner and waiting for her during transitions. We're actually similarly paced for the bike and run, so I might just have an extra 15 minutes after the swim.... at any rate, the competitor in me wants to push myself and pick a 2nd event for this summer. Should I do a 2nd sprint tri and aim for my 1:32 goal? Or should I try my first Olympic? I can swim forever and that's no problem, can easily bike the distance (I commute 1-2 days a week to work every summer, 17 miles one way ), but the run... I've worked up to 3 miles in about 35 minutes. Is it reasonable to try to double that to 6.2 miles by June 26th?
