Subject: Wet Suits
Hi All-

I'm not new to the sport, but I have noticed one thing especially lately. I'm  swimming about 10 times faster without a wetsuit. I usually swim with a farmer john style suit, but I still have fitting problems because I'm only 5'2". I'm not fat, only a 31" waist, but have very broad shoulders and a 42" chest so a suit that fits my chest is way long in the legs and any suit for my height restricts my chest wall motion. Cry
Any suggestions besides a custom job?

Thanks

Gary

2X on checking out the Desoto 2- piece wetsuits. Had the same issue with fit and Desoto was the answer.

I've heard of people cutting the legs off shorter to make them fit.  Maybe that would work.

Thanks for all the great suggestions.

However:

I have tried DeSoto's wetsuits already and no dice, won't fit me.

Cutting the legs short which I actually did on a QR ultra john created like a bell bottom at the ankle which could not be fixed. I actually do fit into a Blue Seventy small, but my  Blue Seventy Reaction is still too tight around the upper chest.

Thanks Again,

Gary

Beerman - 2009-08-02 9:47 PM Check DeSoto's wetsuits.

Very cool!  I have been concerned about buying something because my height/weight doesn't match up to any of the charts for most wetsuits.  A two piece may be the ticket.
