Subject: Garmin 305 HRM strap - ok to swim with?
Can you do the swim portion (pool swim) with a Garmin 305 forerunner HRM strap on?
I know I can't wear the watch but I would like to have the strap on from the beginning so 
I can have it for the bike - run portion. I don't think I want to try to put it on in T1.

Yes! I wear my 305 HR strap in the water a lot.

wore mine in an OWS last weekend, no ill effects.  It is much easier than trying to put it on in transition.

I wear mine during swims for races especially.  I have also swam with the 305 in my swim cap in a baggie, and it sometimes will pickup a HR reading but not reliable, mostly want time and distance.

I wear mine in the shower so I can see what my HR is doing at all times.

Great - thanks!
I think I'll stash the watch somewhere w/my bike gear, good to know I can have my heart rate reading during the bike and run portions now.
