I thought it was a good event to. I'm not a great swimmer so the shallow water played into my hands, but it does make for a less legitimate swim leg when the entire pack does not really have to swim. I came in to the finish a couple minutes behind you. Nice race!

I totally agree with your take on the swim. I was happy to dolphin the whole way, but really wanted to test my swimming. I'll take the fast time though...

Truly a top notch event for organization. I was thrilled with the treatment we got, the set up, the volunteers, the food. A great day, especially with no humidity!

I was also impressed with the motorcycles out on the bike course patrolling everything. That is a first for me.

You're absolutely right.

I can't believe how perfect the weather turned out. I got there shortly after 7am and the wind was brutal. But by race time everything had settled down and then by the time everyone was done the sun came out and made it a perfect afternoon.

Too bad "The Star" didn't have ANY coverage. I wrote the editor and the answer I got was basically, 'We were too busy covering non-local events to care about this one.'

Okay, so this one was only the second event I've ever been in, but I was none-the-less very, very impressed with the organization, professionalism and overall how well put together this event was. I will definitely be doing this one next year - a great experience!
