I am training with my wife to do some Du's and Tri's this upcoming summer. We both run and mountain bike, but over the last several years we have let our jobs get in the way of working out. I went from not owning a car, living in the city, in a 3rd floor walk up and riding, running, or walking everywhere to being a suburbanite with a 40 minute commute... We recently moved to Pinckney and have both made a vow to rededicate ourselves to train and it has been going very well for the last several months.

Hello, paragon and mrs. paragon.  Welcome to the site!  I know you'll find it encouraging, challenging, and educational.

We've got a strong contingent of BT'ers in Michigan...dare I call us the Michigan Mafia?  Anyway, we're good for 6-7 races a year together, and try to peel off a few long rides or runs together at a metropark of our choosing for training.

Coming up...we'll book some kind of training event in March, and shortly thereafter the race sched starts...so keep your eye on the Michigan training area (click on forums, then at the bottom it'll say 'US Group Training and Who's Racing Forums', then expand that and you'll see the MI forum) for race info, group training, and general naughtiness.

Congrats to you and the better half for getting back into it.  Feel free to PM me for any local info or questions you might have.

Rick in Rochester Hills...
