Subject: RE: aching back from bike to runtry to stretch your back/hip area every day...stand up on your pedals to stretch out your back...or at least move it around some...every 20-30minutes... if that does not give u help and u r sure that your road bike is properly fitted, a tri-specific bike will give u improved geometry for more comfortable rides - AND aspecially for less back tightening for the T2. tri-specific bikes allow your skeletal frame to support u, road bikes u must rely on the handlebars - your back muscles. having aero bars on a road bike is not necesarily the answer as it can increas uncomfortability. the seat tube angle on a tri bike is better for your back than a road bike. its all about seemingly subtle BUT very important differnces in your bodies geometry while on these two bikes. but caution...tri-specific bikes r best used for triathlons and solo endurance...not racing, drafting, long hills and cornering...this is where they r at a disadvantage. BUT they will definitely improve your comfort on rides. maybe others can chime in on their experiences...best to try other stuff than get a tri-specific bike...monetarily at least. |
