This..........

Wow. Fearless. Every time I'd jump off the highest diving platform at the city pool I'd break my nuts.....so I don't go off the high dive.

Speaking of kids giving us grey hair.....my son texted me today saying that he has a week or so after his internship ends before classes start at UA so he was thinking about going to Cuba. Cuba?! WTF, over?! I did my best to talk him out of it and I think I got thru to him after citing the State Department travel advisories. I almost regret instilling him a love for travel and adventure. I think he had been to about 20 countries before he even graduated HS. Now he has a life goal of visiting every country on the planet before he dies.

We raised them to not fear the world or anything in it.......in my next life I'm giving them a ball of twine to play with in their room and telling them to feel lucky they got that.  LOL

When my son was about 5 or 6 we went on a father/son camp out and canoe trip. There was a cliff on the river that people jump off of into the river. So all the boys climbed up to jump off. My son was much younger than all the other boys. When they got up there and saw how high it was, they were all afraid to jump. My son pushes his way to the front and says, “I’ll go!” And jumped. After that a few of the older boys were shamed into jumping and jumped....but some actually climbed back down. I was very proud of my little guy’s fearlessness.

Reminds me a trip to Calgary. They have a zipline on the old Olympic ski jump. We got harnessed in and I turned to ask my youngest (ten at the time) if she wanted me to wait for her. She was already gone!


The line ends to the left of that orange backhoe in the middle of the pic. Those ski jumpers have brass cojones.
