Subject: RE: This may be a dumb question...I always thought that a brick was any combination of event put together, Swim to bike, or bike to run. I have even called some training runs bricks that don't go in traditional order, run bike. It is just something that helps you get used to starting a run or bike not 100% fresh.
FYI: I have been doing bricks years before I was into tris. For my track team in High School, bricks were speed workouts, also known as ladders. For example: 4X200, 3X300, 2X400, 1X800, 2X400, 3X300, and 4X200.
I use this format for some of my swim speed workouts now (only shorter ).
