Does any body get accupuncture treatments done?
I've heard it really works for different things. I want to get treatments done for stress and mild insomnia.

I had my tendonitis (in my wrists) treated with acupuncture. It was the best thing I ever did. Before acupuncture I couldn't hold a key, turn a key in a lock, open a door, drive a car, or pick up a book with one hand without experiencing excrutiating pain. After 3 months of weekly treatments my wrists are now healthy and (mostly) pain free. My last treatment of 4 years ago and I haven't experienced debilitating pain since.

I also had a broken pinky toe treated with acupuncture (western medicine doesn't typically treat this type of injury). It hurt like the dickens for a day or two (the acupuncturist warned me of this) and after that the swelling and pain were gone.

Acupuncture worked wonders for me. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in trying it.

Good Luck.

IN 2002 I had a ruptured disk and was in excrutiating pain...couldn't tie my shoes, eating painkillers like sweet tarts. The insurance company wasn't crazy about permitting surgery first, so I tried everything...including Acupuncture.

I had mixed results with the treatments...I'd still recommend it, though, as a possiblity. One set of treatments really relieved the pain I was having - felt great afterward - lasted about a month. The other set of treatments didn't really do much for pain, but was - without a doubt - the most relaxing experience I've ever had - bar none. Like the world's best massage.

So whether it solves your problem, or is just a very solid relaxation, it's worth a go. One note...you won't get much out of the first session or two...it'll take you that long to get over the idea of needles and really let yourself feel the treatment. After the 3rd, you'll start getting a read on what it does for you...

A friend of mine has fibromyalgia and she gets it done and says it is one of the only things that relieves her pain. She said the only problem is it only lasts like a week or two though and then she has to go back again. She says it is worth the money though. I think she said it was 50 bucks a trip and they puncture you up until the pain is gone, lol.

I've used it to treat sinus infections, and my wife has used it to treat migraines. We swear by it.

We use a native born, Beijing trained doctor. We switched to him after trying a couple of other practitioners without success. He also uses herbs if it's called for.
