I have been finishing my LSD activities and still feel like I have alot left.  Are there any issues with putting a second "higher intensity" workout in on the same day?  Does this have a negative impact?  Should I increase the LSD durations until I finish tired?

Normally I avoid taking drugs while training. If you take LSD and still have a lot left, you're buying too much at once. I would avoid taking LSD until you're tired at all costs as you could have serious long-term mental damage as a result.

You don't need to finish every every workout tired in order to get something out of it.  The distance/duration/intensity should have a specific purpose, and adding more just to make yourself tired doesn't make much sense.  I think it's a good thing to feel like you have a little bit left at the end of a workout.

I can think of two negatives to adding a second high intensity workout on the same day; increase risk of injury and increased recovery time.  That said, there's nothing wrong with running the last 15-20 minutes of your LSD at a higher pace.

Are you following any sort of training plan or just randomly choosing your training?

I think the name of the workout is LSD for a reason, long and steady.

Some plans call for a progressive effort throughout the ride building up to a hard or all out efforts at the end, but those workouts are not called LSD's.

LSD's to me are more of a base building, getting use to the saddle, getting some miles on the legs, or a recovery ride workout.

SOOOOOOOOOO, IMHO, you should not be wiped out at the end of a LSD workout and still feel like you could have gone with more effort.

Your results may vary.

How long are your LSDs? (Different folks have different ideas of what "long" means.)  If you're doing 20 milers, I'd say no - you need the recovery time. If your "longs" are significantly shorter, then maybe - but rest and recovery is still a key component of your training.

Since you don't keep logs on BT, it's hard to tell if you're properly planning your LSDs. You shouldn't end every workout feeling like your tank is empty, and feeling like you have "a lot left" doesn't really tell us much about how you're feeling. You shouldn't feel like you're going to crash afterwards, but you will have fatigue in your legs.

Perhaps they're too short or perhaps they're too easy (S = steady, not slow), but it's really hard to tell...
