currently copying some older cds into itunes to transfer some new stuff to the old rio cali. the old mix of tunes was pretty mellow, so i'm going more upbeat this time - sun is shining, high of 32 today, and a 5 mile run peppered with some key selections from: tricky, massive attack, everything but the girl, jamiroquai, india arie, taj mahal, elvis costello, cocteau twins, digable planets, tribe called quest, average white band, carl douglas, paliament, curtis mayfield, rick james, trio, hooverphonic, mc solaar, ciba matto, luscious jackson, and portishead (will listening to portishead make me slower???). how can fit them all???

i really want to go buy some new guru and the new chemical bros (mainly because q-tip does some stuff on the album). anyone else know of some good albums on the horizon???

so, if you've changed your tunes lately, what are you listening to this week??? what new music are you hoping to acquire in the near future??

Going back to some NIN, P.O.D., Giant, ABBA (yes, that's right, ABBA), Fishbone, Faith No More, Black 47... Kinda' thinking that Franz Ferdinand is pretty cool. And no, Portishead will not make you slower. Just more centered

go abba. i love abba. have you seen 'pricilla, queen of the desert'?

love my new combination. lots of female voices. didn't realize how many male voices were on the player before (nick drake, the shins, tribe, beastie boys, etc.). luscious jackson, cocteau twins, ebtg, i'm a happy camper! am thinking of taking off any remaining male vocals and replace with some ani and sarah.

faith no more. i should track down some mr. bungle. ah, memories.

Funny you should mention it... I pulled my MP3 player off the shelf for yesterday's run. It's been over 6 months since I've run with it! I found myself enjoying some songs and skipping others. Time to update the tunes, I guess.

For the record, the stuff I liked:

Chuck Berry - You Never Can Tell
The Gipsy Kings - Bomboleo
Thalia - Arrasando, & Salsa Mujer Latina
Paulina Rubio - Baila Casanova
Stevie Wonder - Sir Duke
Reel Big Fish - Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Pricilla - haven't seen that one yet. I only have one Cocteau Twins album and for the life of me can't remember the title... "Something" Cafe. Ms. McLachlan is always a favorite in our house. Here newest album is great, but I think I still like Fumbling Towards Ecstasy the best.

Saddest thing about FNM is that I think my favorite song of theirs is their cover of "Easy like Sunday Morning" - it's sooooo good All of a sudden I have an urge to dig out some Echo and the Bunnymen...

i bet its four calendar cafe. i had a couple songs on the rio from that album today. i was torn about running with the rio or my little arm radio...but the current is having a fund drive this week, so the rio it was (and YES, we gave them money!).
