Did my first triathlon on Sunday the Monster Tri in Keller Texas. I had a great time!!!!

Thanks to everyone on here that has been posting forever and for all the information that is present on the site. I started training back in July after I bought a bike and got into the pool for the first time in years. Lost 20 pounds and put a ton of miles on the bike and shoes and finally did my first sprint.

I learned pretty much everything I needed from the posts and articles on here and It was great to be so prepared. It was so much fun and I've already started looking for the next race I want to do, and starting to set a training schedule for the offseason. I'msetting my sights on at least one olympic distance next year and possibly even *gasp* a half IM. It's not going to be cheap but the cost is definitely worth it!

Here's the report

I've also told myself I need to start logging my workouts on here so that's another thing for me to work on over the winter.

Congrats on finishing that first race!

You can always compare the cost of bikes and race fees to triple-bypass surgery (or a year of blood pressure medicine)

(I signed up for a HIM after my first season of sprints).

Congratulations!

I too did my first tri only with information that I learned right here on BT! (Seems like ages ago!)

Keep up the great work and know that you've got a huge group of "best friends" to bounce ideas off of here!

My open heart surgery cost me $86,000 eight years ago and a year of my life to fully recover.  You can get a darn nice bike for $86K.

I could buy a very nice bike just on the out-of-pocket portion of that $86K.
