Subject: RE: sprint workouts???the issue with adding any type of speedwork is two fold,
first, if the OP doesnt have the running under his belt to safely do ith, he is goingto get hurt, and at this point the gains from doign speedwork are going to be about the same as simply running.
second, most people i see simply do not get how to do track or speed workouts correctly. they see 400m repeats, so they go SPRINT 400m, or something to that effect.
speedwork, with the exception of strides (if you want to call that speed work ), really has no place in the training program of someone not running a lot or for a long time. |
