Subject: Purchasing some bike gear, thoughts?
I'm going to go out today to try and find myself some clipless pedals, some road shoes, and a bike computer.  I'm looking for speedplay zeros, shoes that fit comfortably, and whatever computer the bike store has that fits my budget/does what I want.  Does this sound like a good game plan?

Are these good items to have on your bike? Yes! Pedals always make you faster. Going clipless, Speedplay are nice and highly recommended. As far as a bike computer, I would suggest something with cadence. Cateye makes some good quality computers and are well priced. In addition to your LBS, which I always support, check Performancebike.com, ebay, craigslist, nashbar.com.

i'm in the process of "beefing up" my bike right now as well.  My first consideration after pedals/shoes was hydration.  I got the profile saddle attachment and would highly recommend it.

Sounds good overall. You might consider a garmin 305 instead of a regular cyclometer depending on your budget.

I like wireless computers - easier to attach, and no worries about the wires getting caught or ripping out or any of the other issues I used to have with them.

Cateye has a great wireless for somewhere between 55-160 depending on how much you want to spend.  I love mine.
