Oly in Michigan?

I am new to the sport myself. My first tri was the Inter-Rockin Olympic, Near Traverse City, this past July 12th. I am training for the Traverse City Olympic Triathlon, Aug 23rd. and my final on for the year will be in Malibu Cali on Sept 12th.

I am not sure about others around the area, I plan on doing a few more Oly's next year along with the Silverman HIM (in NV).

My plan is to take on a sprint in the spring, Inter-Rockin again, Traverse City Tri, BAREFOOT Tri and Silverman HIM next year. We shall see how it pans out.

The Motor City triathlon is supposed to be a good one.  I didn't do it this year, but quite a few other BTers did.  The course is on Belle Isle so its real flat and fast.  I did the Ann Arbor triathlon early in the seasy and while it isn't an oly, its longer than a typical sprint and its very challenging, so if you're looking for something intermediate, I'd do that one.

I've heard a lot of people rave about Sylvania. Fast. Flat. Well organized.

I have not done it myself but know several who really like it.

I did Interrockin Sprint as my first this year.  Great event, great location.  I am doing the OLY next year.

What do you want to achieve?
Is a flat, fast course better, or are trail runs interesting to you?

I hate hills, but I love trails.

My first tri is at ILRA.  I know I have a few hills to contend with but I love nature over urban scenery.  I'll take a hill with a trail then flat city running/riding any day.
