Subject: Anyone use Infinit for the run portion?
I love Infinit for my long rides and I would like to try it for my long runs, but I do not wear a fuel belt.  What other options do I have? I am trying to keep it simple.  Concentrated mix in a flask?  Carry powder?  Thanks!

I started dividing my long runs into 1 hour loops instead of a 2 to 3 hour loop which allowed me to stop by the house and get a fresh bottle out of the fridge. During my IM I had mixed up two super concentrated fuel belt bottles that I had planned on carrying in the leg pockets on my Desoto shorts. Problem was, when I ran out of T2 I completely forgot to grab the bottles and had to live off the course.

I used Infinit for my last 2 IM races.  If you don't use a fuel belt or a Nathan Bottle (hand held water bottle), I'm not sure you have any good options.

IMHO, the last thing you want to do is play 'chemist' on course with a concentrated bottle and definetly NOT powder.

I personally had a fuel belt with 4-8oz bottles and got 4 new ones at Special needs.

I do long runs with a Nathan's hand held bottle.  Would I make a 2.5 hour bottle and supplement with water at the aid stations and then pick up a new bottle at SN? (This is assuming a 5 hr marathon time, I am hoping to beat that, but we'll see what race day brings!)

If that's what you're doing now for your long runs then yes.

I actually have just been using water, gels and Endurolytes.  That seems more complicaed than necessary, which is why I was considering switching to Infinit for the run too (run formula vs ride formula), but without a fuel belt I am unsure as to how to make it work.

I would suggest trying to learn to use fuel belt and have them the right concentration to drink. You can have extra bottles in your run special needs.

I used hand held for a couple years and went to fuel belt and it was much easier. As you get more and more you get tired the simpler it is the easier it is to execute your nutrition plan.

I make up a special mix of maltodextrin, flavoring and lava salts both for bike and run similar to the idea of infinit.
