Sounds like the two Amendment questions' results will already be under fire because of election officials giving out advice on how to fill out the ballots.  I've read several places now where voters are being told by officials that if they leave the question blank it's the same as voting "No".  Election officials can not in any way give instructions to voters on how to fill out their forms, except in the cases where it's asked for.  The instructions are clearly printed on the ballots.

Oops, I should have clarified.  The issue is with the Election Judges verbally giving out advice on how to fill out the ballot.  They are tampering with the vote by advising voters not to leave the amendment questions blank because they count then as a "no" vote.

edited to add:  I'm fine with the "no" vote, that was my choice anyhow.  Just in case anyone was wondering where I stood on the matter.

yes but they did not say to fill out yes.  I think they were trying to make sure people should read it because a no vote is a "no" vote.  I guess if you wanted people to vote no then yeah I can see its frustrating they are trying to avoid wait I did not bother voting and I should have I am so upset now.

My take:

If an election worker says:

"There are 2 issues on the ballot today.  You may vote "yes" or "no."   Leaving the question blank counts as a "no.""

Not tampering.

On the other hand:

"There are 2 issues on the ballot today.   DO NOT leave a blank, it counts as a "no.""

Tampering.

ETA:  Unless the remark was unsolicited by the voter.  If unsolicited, both are tampering, although one is more egregious.

I'm honestly amazed at how close the marriage amendment is, I guess living in the Cities gave me a false sense of security for "No".

My m-i-l was a judge--she said they received a TON of extra training to ensure that basically what you just said happened. There were signs at the polls, and if asked they had to get that sort of neutral response.

Of course, staffers are human volunteers who make mistakes, too, so...
