It'll be my first ever tri, I'm looking forward to it.

...and the price can't be beat.

How did it go?

Mostly good...

The torrential downpour we had for the entire bike ride sure didn't help. I went off course twice on the ride, as did many other people. People were stopping and asking for directions all over the place. I tried to refer to the map they gave us when me and 2 other people had no idea which direction to go but because of the rain it dissolved in my hands...

I was a little disapointed when I ran across the finish line at 8.3km despite the fact that the run was listed as 10km (apparently the map that dissolved told us the run was only 8.3km even though the course on the website was 10km).

However I don't want to sound all negative, this was a 100% free tri organized and set up by volunteers, and I really appreciate them doing this for us.

Overall it went well and I had lots of fun.

Congrats! You mentioned that it would be your first.. Glad that you had fun, and it all went fairly well. I thought about everyone when it began to rain... iirc, that was prolly the first rain all summer So, what have you got planned next?

Next up is the Vancouver Triathlon on Labour Day. Only 17 days away. Can't wait.
