Subject: RE: Best Cycling Attire (Men) - 2007 Important caveat: I work for Spinning(R)--also noted in my tag line. There is no direct benefit to me whatsoever for saying I like their clothes, though. I've posted in a lot of the other Best-of Threads, and I'm not posting in the girls' cycling attire thread 'cause I don't wear women's cycling clothes. I've tried and bought a lot of men's cycling shorts/bibs/jerseys and hands down I like the Spinning(R) brand the best. It's what I wear for long rides or high-intensity training. (Qualify "long" as 2+ hours or 30+ miles.) NO chafing, NO edges, NO seam-rubbing. I think it's because they're made to be good enough and last through a lot of wear on those incredibly yucky generic Spinner(R) bike saddles. I've washed the heck out of them (even with detergent and then in the dryer) and both pad and fabric have stood up. The jerseys feel good on the skin, don't fade or die even with my washing, don't stink, and most importantly, don't ride up. They stay put. Back pockets are roomy. The downsides are that there's a stiff tag that I've found hard to cut out (especially annoying with the bibs). They're also pretty pricey. |
