First Tri in 12 days 500/20/5 Sprint.  Vets please tell me I will not drown and I will not be last out of the water.  I can do a 2:15/100 for 2500 in the pool, but my first 2 OWS, not so good.

Inspire me.

The longest nonstop pool swim I completed before my tri was 150yd. Managed to push through the 1/2 mile ocean swim with out too much trouble. I think your alot further ahead than I was, Im sure you'll do fine. Just get a couple more OWS sessions in before over the next couple of weeks.

Then that means you will be out of the swim in 11 mins 15 sec

Before you know it you will be finished and on that super speedy bicycle!

You've done a couple of OWSs so you have an advantage in that you know what to expect.  Try to relax and enjoy it.  Someone on here gave a brilliant piece of advice which really worked for me - start swimming about the half the speed you think you should be.  It stops you heading out too fast and getting winded, then trying to get your breath back.  Lets us know how it goes - bet it'll be great!

I'm no expert/vet, but being in your shoes a short few months ago I know you will do fine!  Just don't forget anything at home, like your jersey, for example ...not that I'm speaking from experienceWink. Otherwise it wouldn't hurt to get some more OWS in before hand. Certainly looks like youve got the endurance for the swim, just don't let the OWS psych you out!

Good luck...you will not drown, you won't be last out of the water AND you will enjoy it!

You will be fine. You have a good base and I bet that half way through the swim, when you see others gasping for breath, you will realise that you can smash it. Transition will be smooth and you will be on the bike in no time. Transition again, thinking that was quick hope I have enough for the run, then you will be smiling coming down the finishing straight thinking about signing up for the next one!

Enjoy the race, and don't forget your race report!

Thanks all.  I feel better already.  I will absolutely nail the race report.  It is my favorite thing about BT.  Great race reports are very inspirational and informative.  They definatley provide mental imagery for my race and clue me in to potential pitfalls I may encounter.

Thanks again.  What a great bunch of night owls.

The swim portion is by far the most challenging for me, not that I haven't trained well, just come race day it freaks me out.  That said, I repeat to myself, slow is fast, slow is fast, get into my rhythm and before I know it I am out of the water.  I think you will do far better than you think you will, just slow down at the start, best of luck!
