After months of research, wasting the time of anyone working at a LBS who would listen as I asked a million questions, an initial fitting, and a thread or two here I finally had decided to go for it sometime this month or next, and buy myself a fancy new Felt B2 from Trisports.com.  The last few days I had noticed that the bike isn't on the internet anymore, and fearing the worst  I called and sure enough the B2 won't be available until the 2010s come out, and apparently for Felt, this tends to be in February.

The Next bike up, the B2 TTR is on sale for $4375, but is still $600 more than I was really willing to part with.  Oh well, I suppose I'll be waiting until next year.

Check you LBS. Just because TriSport sold out of them does not mean that you LBS does not still have them. Also consider the B12. It is the same exact frame as the B2 just a different component set you could uprade later and the B12 is a lot cheaper. Granted I do not know what you have right now so maybe the B2 is just a slight upgrade vs. going from a road/hybrid/mountain bike.

Either way good luck but if it was me...I would need to stay in budget.

Um, the B2 and B12 aren't the same frame. Close, but different material and slightly different lay-up.  SuperDave shared that on ST. And note the difference in frame weights.  The molds are the same, though, so they're pretty similar.

Also, The B2 is completely still available on the web. There are a ton of dealers that will still have some in stock. Buy one (if you know the frame size) and have it shipped to your LBS for final fitting.

if i wear you and could not find the B2 out there (which you can, there are a decent amount still), i would totally get the B12, and spend the leftover on an aero helmet or other goodies.

its the same frame design with a slightly diff weight/material layup, ie nearly the same bike and you would prob never know the diff if someone put a B2 sticker on it. both great bikes.

just my thougths though.

I'll look around online.  I know what frame size I'll need, but was hoping to save a couple hundred bucks by getting the bike at trisports since they throw in a FIST fitting when you buy a bike, I was also going to try to drop that 10% off coupon from here and see if that works.

I'm thinking I can't really justify spending more than I had planned right now, but I'll give the B12 another look.  As you say I'd probably never notice the difference between the two other than the money I'd be saving.

I guess they are not the exact same frame but I was going off of the review found HERE on the B12. Looks like the frame geometry/design is exactly the same while the B12 uses a slightly different Carbon Fiber. Close enough that I would probably not notice the distance but you are right, not exactly the same.

The B2 also has a slightly different fork, and the wheels included are of higher build quality.

I was going between B2 and a B12, wound up with the B12. B2 has slightly better components and the front end is different on the B2(bayonet headset) I love my bike and figure I would spend the extra on a helmet or tri shoes. Good Luck
