So i ride a javelin sizzano
(76 deg seat angle
). Its a 51cm frame, and i'm 165 lbs at 5'9 with no shoes.
I just recently lowered the position of the arm pads to have a more aero position, which is now requiring a total readjustment of everything on my bike. I read
this article for positioning issues, when i came to the conclusion that my aero bar extensions are all wrong for me. In order to have the pads fit directly under my elbow, i would need the bars to be longer. If i pull out the bars any more, they will fall out of the clamps.
These are hte bars that came on my bike. The tripple bend stuff i think is really stupid, and i wanted to go with somthing much more aerodynamic.
I had the idea of just getting new bars, such as
these, but then i realized that i would need different clamps in order to hold the pads, because as of now, the pads screw directly into the aero bar extension
(the holes can be seen
here).
I was also wondering if the following bars would work on my oval cowhorns...
http://www.excelsports.com/new.asp?page=8&description=T2+Plus+Aero+Bar&vendorCode=PROFILE&major=1&minor=36&site=qbikehttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130318456302I'm pretty tight on money, so i was looking for the most cost effective solution for me. I definately need different aero bar extensions, but i'm not sure which direction to take.
I definately need room for fore and aft adjustement of the aero bar extensions so that i may have a proper fit on my bike. I might need a new stem, but i'm not positive on that either. The stem i have is an oval concepts stem that also came with the bike.
If the bars above won't give me exactly what i want, i was just thinking about going with these...

I'm guessing the straighter it is, the more aerodynamic it is, and the more bends it has, the more comfortable it is??
