Subject: 1st tri bike
I am looking at buying my first tri bike sometime in the near future.  I am not looking to spend more than $2200.  I have been looking at four brands and have found some bikes that strike my interest.  I was wondering if anyone had any insight or advice for either of the brands of bikes.  I think I may have narrowed it down to either Fuji, Cervelo, Quintana Roo, and Felt.  Any information or advice would be much appreciated.

go with the felt b16 it is in my opinion the best buy you can get out of the group you gave me. felt always has better componets than the other brands.

Go to your LBS and ride the all, then buy the one that fits you the best and you feel the most comfortable on. The rest is just personal preference.

There are a bunch of bikes in the $2000-2500 price range.  I just went through the research/purchase process in this range and ended up with a Felt B12 for $2,400 - a little more than I wanted to pay but I am extremely happy with the decision I made.  As far as brands are concerned, everyone has a Cervelo because they are great bikes.  Felt is also known to make great bikes.  I did not do too much research on either Fuji or QR, but everything that I did read in this price range was comparing the B12 and P2c.  Keep in mind that 2010 models of bikes will be coming out in the next couple of months so you should be able to find a great deal on a 2009 model if you can wait.  Good luck!

cervelo provides an awsome frame for the price, but you will have to pay more to get the same level components as you would a less expensive  felt

i got a p2c for 2300

also consider felt b12.  don't go with the b16.  shoot for 09 model as the frame uses different carbon weave and is lighter and better made.

fuji aloha is in the same price range, nice bike
QR seduza is in price range

there are alot of bikes in that range.  go to LBS look at each, hear what they have to say, ride if you can each one, see how they feel.

I am in the same boat.  My last tri for the year is in a couple of weeks and I am riding a loaner bike for that.  Then I will be looking hard this fall for a bike in that same price range.
